Happy 2017 everyone!
More news to follow on exciting competitions we have coming up but in the meantime please check out our new boots and any questions please just ask.
Since we launched in October 2015 we have had an amazing first year and its thanks to all our friends for joining us on our journey to world boot domination. Maybe not world domination but we have plans.
Our plan was to design and manufacture chelsea boots of the best fit, style and quality but keep below the £200 mark. We managed to do this and the feedback from our customers or 'boot friends' has been really great so thank you for your emails and comments they are greatly received.
There is always room for improvement however and so we have added to the design of our boots, included some funky colours and also developed the ability to apply a pattern to our elastic. We have started with a blue and white stripe but we will not stop there. Plans are afoot.
The styling of the toe has improved in shape, it is now slightly more square. We have changed from one piece construction, to improve the fit of the boot around the ankle and overall shape. The 2015 range had pastel colours, this time we have gone with brighter colours. Once we extend our range even further we will also be running with pastel colours but wanted to kick off 2016 with a bang!
In terms of the existing range we only have left what is on the website so hurry if these take your fancy. We will not be re-ordering further pairs.
21 days to go now until the new boots are out. We will be running a competition and a valentines day special offer so keep checking back and also look out for a some new social media treats. We have just started working with someone who has a sillywild imagination. Stay tuned...
Loads of boot love.

Today we launched our first ad on Facebook. What took us so long? A huge amount of events that we have been at spreading our word on chelsea boots and more importantly Gilmour & Gray.
We have some great testimonials and I will be uploading them to the site soon to show you all how enriched your life can be by a pair of Gilmour & Grays.
Our caps are also now with us and are being sent out with our boots to be worn at festivals all around the UK this summer.
We hope summer is going well for you all. I will post back soon with some updates on our plan for the second half of 2015. It includes a kickstarter campaign but more of that later....
Charlie & Nick
We have been silent since Christmas but are now back. Hi.
So we launched with a bang in October with an influx of orders from fellow boot lovers and Christmas buyers alike. It has been a great launch phase and since our last blog we have been so excited with the sight of our boots pacing around the streets of London and blighty.
We now have some great news regarding Gilmour & Gray. We are designing (as we speak there are designs being drawn with colouring in going on of more funky elastic and different leathers) a new range that will be ready for Spring / Summer. This will include a black suede as well as the original brown. We will also be introducing funky colours into our boot-toire. Sorry.
So we are giving all you boot lovers a chance to snap up an original pair of Gilmour & Grays. We say original because this is the first ever range of boots that we have produced and in years to come, we are utterly convinced that 1) these boots will be an old friend and 2) they will be worth a small fortune. Trust us.
Please can you head to the website or spread the word that Gilmour & Gray are having a February Sale (not January) and this is the last chance to pick up stock.
Until next time.
The Boot Brothers.
So it was time to write my first blog for www.gilmourandgray.com. What do I write about? I’ve never written a blog in my life. Not a great start to my blogging career, but then I’m not an actual blogger.
Regardless the first topic that came into my head was…Why did Charlie and I begin this journey? We know the answer, but the boots do not tell the whole story. It is something that has evolved and I would like to talk about the evolution of our boots and the brand.
Boots have always been a passion for us. Growing up in a household of six. Three boys and our little sister Georgina, marshalled by two loving parents, it was a household that had shoes everywhere and I do mean everywhere. This in essence is where our love of footwear began. Both parents took great excitement in ordering Chelsea boots from around the world, once every two years to replenish the 5 year old pairs that had been handed down to…us. Surely there was a British company who could provide this ‘walk changing, look altering’ boot? Apparently not.
So from there it was a case of then trawling the high street as a student, in search of a smart but casual boot, that could be worn to a smart occasion, but that was not going to fall apart in a nightclub or even more fun look better after a night out. This was not achievable on a budget of £50, far from the £250 that was being spent by those that could afford it. Many of the boots I am talking about are aspirational, something that you would buy when you were older and look after them for years. But there was no middle ground. It was the expensive boots or the very cheap ones that fell apart and looked scruffy after walking in a dewy field. There had to be a better way of doing this.
As soon as Charlie and I were in London, my need for smarter shoes or boots increased, but Charlie being a musician was always looking funkier. So here completes the Gilmour & Gray boot. Let’s combine his funkiness and my eye for traditional quality and stitching. Then you could have an East London meets West London boot, perfect for all occasions, but remember this is high in quality, yet affordably priced. Get your boots, get your boots!
